All Evil is from 'PutersDirectron Scholarship 2008 Essay No. 54by Alex Austin When buying a computer I was not informed That 'puter will take over, My life will be transformed. I never had a master And bondage was not a goal, But now I am serving 'puter And 'puter's got my soul. My social life is over, My spare time is gone, I don't have time for sleeping And nothing's getting done. Before this I was healthy And even went to gym, But now it is sitting And clicking is my skill. My parents say it's prison, They beg me leave my room. But 'puter's ruling firmly - This room will be my doom. You think I have an accent. When I speak - I talk too much? I don't get to speak too often, No exercise and I lose my touch. I do not talk to people, I chat, email, blog On lightning fast connection: - Will this ever stop? Late night for some may signal It is time to take a break, Yet, when this continent is sleeping Another one's awake. My friends don't recognize me, I am not a man I've been. My hair touches shoulders, Unbathed and all untrimmed. My looks start to trouble people And don't leave my flat, Yet Internet has everything To my heart's content. There is no time for girlfriends, Girls don't date my type, But my bookmarks list a service For a mail-order bride. The money from my savings Is not being spent on food. The 'puter needs another card That has been just reviewed. I can play Warcraft for ages with my 5 accounts strong I mine more gold than Asia: How can one go wrong?!? My temper is rather peaceful, I hope you agree, When you see me smashing monsters I'm playing in 3D! I had some plants before this And now they are all dry. They look at me with sadness, My future they imply. Right now I am thirty Just starting to conclude All evil is from 'puters and this is just a prelude.
