SHEX: Directron 602U-B-WF Case
I recently purchased a Directron 602U-B-WF case to migrate my (too large) full tower system to. Tomorrow I will be doing the switch over. Here are my first impressions of the case:
1) The build quality is actually quite good. (better then many would expect from a $37 case w/powersupply.
2) The powersupply is a fairly standard TigerPro model that is P4 ready. It's not perfect but its not junk either.
3) The single fan included with the case is very generic-- no labels at all. There's no way to figure out CFM/db. Haven't tested it for noise yet.
4) The window is attached by the increasingly common screw/bolt attachment. Should you feel the need, the window is fairly easy to remove.
5) Although it is not mentioned, the case does come with a case speaker module. This is in the "mounting kit". The speaker is one of those low end buzzer type speakers, and is a bit unique in that it doesn't attach to the case. It has a very very short lead, and is meant to stick up from the connector.
6) The front USB wiring of this case is the "All pins separated" type. It should work with any motherboard with front USB.

7) The blue of the case is a metallic type of design, that looks kind of dark if you look at it one way, and sky blue if you look at it from a different angle. It's fairly pretty. The blue would be somewhat difficult to match.. but this really isn't an issue since most of the case is beige (including the drive bays). The blue is definitely lighter then the blue wisetech mouse. (A great and pretty cheap optical mouse).
8) The power button is very large, and the reset button is very small. If one wanted to they could reverse the leads for the power and reset such that the larger button performed reset, and the smaller power. This would be helpful for some people given the nature of Windows.
And, as always, you can post a question on the Directron Help Desk! (by122304)
