Notes: (1) Check your motherboard manual to verify that it will accept the new processor before ordering. (2) All microprocessors must be run with an appropriate heatsink and fan attached, otherwise the heat generated from the CPU may damage the processor and void warranty. (3) Sorry, we do not sell processors with specific stepping codes, since it's difficult to control the stepping codes. (4) The clock speed of a processors might be down-graded or upgraded. See our overclocking guide. Warning: If the heatsink/fan is mounted improperly, the chip itself for this AMD CPU is very easy to break and chip off. Once it's chipped off, the CPU is considered as "physically damaged," which voids the warranty. We received an uncharacteristically high percentage of returns for 1 or above GHz AMD CPUs because of this problem. We're working with AMD to address this serious issue. Unless AMD gives warranty on the CPU and send us the replacement, we'll not be able to send the replacement since it's considered as a physical damage by the user. This problem seems to be affecting only AMD Athlon 1Ghz and above. If you have experienced this problem, please contact AMD and voice your opinion. We believe that AMD as a manufacturer should at least partially be responsible for this problem. We'll post any update on this matter here in the future. Directron.com.
