Picture Tour of Comdex Fall 2002Comdex Fall 2002 was held at Las Vegas in Nov. 18-22. Directron.com has our first debute in Comdex. It was a splashing success. We met many of our existing customers and made many more new friends. We had not only sales people but also customer service reps there so that our customers can meet us in person. Yes, indeed, there are people working behind a web store.In this show, we displayed CaseArts cases (first in the US), 4-fan power supplies (first in the US), an over-clocked water-cooling rig, and a bunch of new case mod related products. The response has been quite positive. Many people were interested in our large selection of new and unique products. Our booth was featured by Comdex TV and covered by many news organizations. Besides our products, we also see this year's Comdex as the first year case mod related products enter the mainstream. Case mod products are virtually everywhere. The manufacturers are catching on the bandwagon. With their R&D capabilities, more products are coming out and at a lower cost. The pre-manufacturered modded products look more professional and cost less than a home-made kit. They will spread the ideas of modded PCs like a wild fire. However, they do take the fun of modding away from those who are die-hard do-it-yourselfers. We have listed some of these products in the following five categories. We will start carrying most of these products soon. It's disappointing to note that this year's Comdex is estimated at only 1/4 of the size at the peak of Comdex and only 1/2 of the size last year in terms the number of vendors. We are glad that we are one of them that has made it.
