I happened to have some DOS application to perform. But I found it impossible because the bundled USB keyboard was not detected by the machine. How do I resolve this proble
-Answer-:Please enter BIOS setup interface via pressing F2 during POST phase, go to [BOOT] tab, and then set [Boot Booster] as [Disable]. Save & Exit BIOS. Now USB keyboard is detectable under pure DOS environment.

I saw a 31MB hidden partition through the Disk Management tool of Windows OS. It has not a volume name but a status marked "Healthy (EFI system partition)". What does this partition do?

Microsoft IE will automatically launch 50~60 windows in around 30 seconds when the following conditions are met. They will shutdown themselves afterward.
1. No Internet connection is present.
2. Skype version 3.6 or above is pre-installed. (EEE TOP ET1602 bundles Skype version 3.8)
3. Launch IE.(or use anything that launches IE, such as Eee Cam updating function)
4. Quickly close IE window while the hourglass retains.
Note: This situation happens on any system.
-Answer-:Please follow below instructions to bypass this issue.
1. Uninstall Skype 3.8 from control panel -> add or remove programs.
2. Obtain Skype 3.5.202 from http://www.download.com/Skype/3000-2349_4-10722590.html
or http://support.asus.com/download/download.aspx?model=ET1602&os=17&SLanguage=en-us
3. Install Skype 3.5.202.
You can also circumvent this problem with Skype 3.8 installed by following steps:
1. Execute Microsoft IE (Internet Explorer Browser) and go to "tools" menu, then chosse "Manage Add-ons...".
2. Disable plug-ins "Skype" and "Skype add-on(mastermind)".
3. Then the problem shall not occur any longer.

I purchased ASUS EEE Etop ET1602 couple of days ago. It's been working like a charm, and I love this product. However, checking against the accessory list in the manual, I find two DVD discs and one manual missing from the package. The accessory list contains Support DVD, Software DVD and Recovery DVD and two manuals. However, I find only System Recovery DVD and one manual in the package. How do I get missing accessories?

To participate in the worldwide effort to protect the environment, the new System Recovery DVD has integrated all previous DVD discs into one disc. I experienced system freezing issue upon POST everytime when I power this machine on. But the problem seems to be occuring only when I connected bundled USB keyboard to a certain USB port as well as having the next port plugged with another USB device. How do I patch this problem?

This is caused by mis-configuration of keyboard setting during recovery process.
If your EEE PC keyboard is US, you cannot select [English/International] as your default keyboard since the keyboard mapping is wrongly selected.

The partitions of the external HDD are all recognized normally in Windows XP.
In Linux OS, some partitions of the external HDD cannot be recognized possibly. How to solve it?

Please do the following steps,
1. Run the “Add/Remove Software” in Settings in the Linux OS when it is in the Internet;
2. When finishing the synchronization with the server, click the button as shown in the folloing picture to download and install the patch, “USB Storage Applet Update”, to solve the problem.
3. Click the “OK” button to start to download the patch and restart the OS when the system shows the interrelated window.
Then the problem will be solved after the system has been restarted.

3. Release the Alt key and mouse left button and move the mouse cursor to the lower right edge of the window. The cursor turns intohspace=0.
4. Press mouse left button and drag the window lower edge further down to extend the window taller. This will display the areas that were out of the range.
