CPU Vcore voltage drops as CPU load goes up.
WOL (Wake on LAN) won't work after unplug power cord.
My M/B cannot detect the total volume of my HDDs correctly when I use Raid over 2TB volume, why?
System show 「New CPU installed」message at POST.
Both Asus and third-party utilities such as PcProbII/AISuite/CPUZ shows that my CPU Vcore reading drops as the CPU load goes up.
This also happens after I set CPU Vcore to a set value instead of the preset [AUTO]. Why does the motherboard act like this?
Will this effect the overall stability of my system?
- Answer:
As Intel specification clearly states Vcc (CPU Vcore) should drop in propotonal to the increase of Icc (CPU current consumption), in order to prevent causing permanent damage to your CPU. When CPU is under stress (in other words, under higher load), the current consumption of the CPU will go up, and the CPU Vcore will then drop to conpensate this change. This is a perfectly normal behaviour, and will not effect the overall stability of your system.
For more information, please refer to Intel CPU datashee, under "DC Voltage and Current Specification".
I found that the WOL (Wake on LAN) function will no longer function after I unplug the power cord.
Is this normal?
- Answer:
Yes, this is normal. As LAN chip requires standby power (+5VSB) to keep WOL register active, switching off the main power to your system will also clear such flag, hence causes it to stop to respond to remote calls.
My M/B cannot detect the total volume of my HDDs correctly when I use Raid over 2TB volume, why?
- Answer:
Due to the limitation of all the chipsets of Raid controllers, currently volume over 2TB will not be recognized correctly.
I have recently found my system showing a message saying 「New CPU installed」at POST everytime when I boot my system, though I have not changed my CPU recently.
What can I do to fix this problem?
- Answer:
Please kindly try the following trouble shooting procedures to see if the problem can be resolved.
Please kindly consult your place of purchase for further assistance if the issue still exists after trying all solutions below:
1. Refer to instructions in your user's manual for the guide to clear CMOS data.
2. Reinstall CPU.
3. Check if the CPU has gone faulty.
4. Update BIOS to the latest version.
