Attaching the Feet

Align the tabs on the top of the foot with the holes in the bottom of the case. Insert the tabs and slide the foot towards the front of the case until it clicks into place. Insert rubber foot into mounting hole on the bottom of the case. Slide the plastic tab into the hole in the rubber foot until it locks into place.

Installing Drives into the Drive Bays

To remove the drive cage, press the latch on the side of the cage and slide it backward until it is free of the case. The holes in the side of the cage should match up with the drive you are trying to install. Use the m3 thread screws to attach the drive to the cage. When mounting a floppy drive, make sure that the front of the drive will be flush with the front of the case once you have replaced the drive cage.

To replace the cage, press the latch and line the tabs on the top of the cage with the holes on the bottom of the cage above it. Insert the tabs, and press the cage forward until it stops against the wall of the case. Release the latch.

To mount a drive into one of the 5?inch bays, first pop out a faceplate on the front of the case (it may be necessary to reach inside the drive cage to do this). Then, slide the drive in from the front of the case until it is flush with the front bezel. Note that it is only necessary to attach screws to one side of the cage to secure the drive. Tension stubs on the other side of the cage will provide enough tension to keep the drive in place.

Mounting a Motherboard into the Case

The motherboard you will put into this case will comply with one of several industry standards that involve the location of mounting holes and integrated components, and the type of power supply used. This case has been designed to be compatible with the AT, ATX, and Micro ATX standards. The type of motherboard that will be used most commonly with this case is an ATX motherboard, so that example will be used. To correctly mount the motherboard into the case, do the following:

Remove the screws from the power supply as shown, and slide it out to provide complete access to the inside of the case. Note that you can completely remove the power supply if needed.
Orient the motherboard to the case so that the integrated connectors are facing the back of the case. Make note of the mounting holes on the motherboard, and which holes on the case they line up with.
Screw the brass spacers into the mounting holes on the case.
Place the motherboard into the case, lining up the holes with the brass spacers. Use the 6-32 thread screws to attach the motherboard.
Refer to your motherboard manual when attaching the CPU, memory, expansion cards, etc.

Cable Attachments

Attach the power supply cable as shown. There are two types of plugs for the drives installed into the drive bays. The smaller one is used for the floppy drive. The larger one is used for all other types of drives (hard drive, CDROM, etc.)

WARNING: The power supply may not operate unless the motherboard and at least one drive are plugged in. Some power supplies are designed not to operate unless they have a minimum load on them.

There are several wires attached to the front bezel that power indicator lights and switches. The wire connectors are labeled, and have an indicator (called Pin 1) as to which way they should be plugged in. The motherboard will have pins that these wires plug into, and will also have Pin 1 indicated. Refer to your motherboard manual for a diagram of the pin arrangement and its location on the board.
