Operation LAN Current/Future EventsOpLAN #5 will be held June 19thOp LAN 5 is bigger, better organized and more fun than ever before. We officially have the following sponsors bringing the most awesome demos and prizes to the event. ATI, Coolermaster, Gainward, Microsoft, just to mention a few. We will also hold drawings throughout the event giving away everything from video cards, cases and bare bone systems. We have a total of 6 rental machines available for those who do have a machine of their own. The cost for renting a computer is $30. Please email paul@directron.us to reserve a system for use. We will have several demo models showing off the latest greatest of video cards on two 32" LCD monitors. There will be a rest area provided by Gigalan gaming centers, there you’ll be able to relax, eat some snacks and watch some cool movies on an LCD projector. ATI, Gainward, and many other vendors will be there giving away prizes and showing off their products in our vendor exhibit area. Bawls will be available for sale and we'll give away some of it for our minor tourneys. No outside food is allowed in the exhibit hall. Operation LAN #5 will offer five tournament events: Street Fighter Showdown, Battlefield 1942, Call Of Duty, Counter Strike, and Case Mod Contest - all with great prizes. Space is limited so register now! Tournament Prize Purse Hardware. Warcraft 3 Starcraft Command & Conquer Generals Unreal Tournament 2004 Console Tournaments (Provided by Gigalan gaming centers) Playstation2: Capcom Vs SNK Soul Calibur 2 Premier Partners: Antec, AMS, ATI, Gainward, Microsoft Partners: Coolermaster, Power Color Partners / Sponsors: AOpen, Intel, Biostar, Vantec, OCZ, Powercolor Prizes: ~$7,000 in Prizes will be given away in the main events. Additional prizes given away for smaller events / raffles. Subject to Change without notice. Game Plan and Schedule (Actual time is subject to change): Regular Sponsors for this Event: Intel, AMD, AMS, AOpen, Asus, CaseArts, Gamestron, MSI, OCZ, Soyo, and Vantec. Giveaways: We'll change how some of the prize products are given away. We'll give quizzes on knowledge of certain brands and their models as a way to promote sponsors' products. We gave away more than $2000 worth of products through raffles in the last event. For an average player, the chance of winning something may actually be much better through the raffles than the tournaments. One person won 7 prizes with 8 tickets last time. Fees: The entry fee is $20 if preregistered through the website, or $25 each payable at the door. We'll have a limited number of systems for rent at $30 per night, which is not sharable. Each player must pay separately. We'll have a limited number of monitors for rent at $10 per night, which is not sharable. Each paid player receives one raffle ticket. Extra raffle tickets can be purchased at $1 per ticket. Registration: Seating is limited. Register now! Notes: (1) You will have to pay for parking in the garages. (2) Please notice the change of start time, which is rolled back to allow more playing time . (3) We may try to conduct the Street Fighter and Battle Field at the same time, please listen to the announcement.(4) Details are subject to change at game time. (5) This year we have Gigalan gaming centers partnering up with us in order to make this LAN event the best to date. The main counterstrike tourney will have it’s own dedicated area and network. We also a have professional staff of volunteers that will be running each event separately.
