No more forgotten id cards, excuses and reasons. Employ a biometric certainty our government uses with extreme success for almost a 100 years - fingerprinting. Lonestar LS-836 Fingerprint Time and Attendance System consists of two integrated parts: the fingerprint terminal and the fingerprint time & attendance management software. The terminal is a stand-alone fingerprint reader, fingerprinting the employee's daily arrival and departure times, allows users quickly and efficiently punch in and out of their workplace. In addition, the included employee management software is designed to read attendance logs of the terminal, to calculate worked hours, and to generate various kinds of statistical reports.

Connection: There are four modes for the communication between the terminal and the software: RS232, RS485, TCP/IP (Ethernet) and a USB drive (the flash drive is not included). The unique feature with LS-836 is its USB flash drive download ability. You can download accumulated data from the terminal to a computer with any modern USB flash drive, which makes this Attendance Management station truly "standalone." By including this option of downloading to a USB flash drive, the LS-836 can be mounted anywhere without any hardwiring costs or installation time – all what is needed is a power outlet - almost wireless!

Possibilities: Convenient for the contractors to take along to a job site for a day, move between the sites. One may even connect to a (not included) DC to AC adapter this attendance system and work from your car without an AC line (or use a comparable voltage DC adapter for a car)! Besides the extremes, this unit can also work as an entry access checkpoint (open door locks depending on a fingerprint) with its popular Wiegand connection interface.

Fingerprint science: Our device does not store a picture of a fingerprint, just a numeric string derived with algorithms from curves and special points of a fingerprint. It is impossible to reconstruct an image of a fingerprint from what is stored making identity theft unfeasible and data unusable. There are no feared privacy issues with our innovative device. If you know, the patterns of ridges on our finger pads are very unique, no two individuals, even identical twins, have exactly alike fingerprints. Even injuries like burns or cuts will not change the ridge structure: when new skin grows, the same pattern will return. And if you were ever curious to know, dactyloscopy is the practice of using fingerprints to identify someone.

Mounting: How hard is it to mount the device? For this job all you need is a pen and a screwdriver. Put the back plate to the wall and position where desired, align horizontally. If mounting to a sheetrock, mark with a pen screw holes, puncture sheetrock and put plastic expanders in. Screw back plate to the wall and mount the device. Other possible ways may include using (not included) zip-ties, stick-pad and etc.
