Glossary of Common Computer Ports and Connectors

	6 MiniDIN Female	Used as the keyboard and mouse ports on almost all new IBM PS/2 and compatible computers (PS2-style).
	5 DIN Female	Used as the keyboard port on older IBM PC, XT, AT, and compatible computers (AT-style).
	4 MiniDIN Female	Used as the keyboard and mouse ports on Macintosh computers.
	8 MiniDIN Female	Used as the communication port on Macintosh computers. Can be used to connect printers, modems, Appletalk networks, etc.
	DB9 Male	Used as the serial port connector on IBM AT, PS/2 and compatible computers for connecting serial mice, modems and other RS-232 serial devices.
	High Density DB15 Female	Used as the VGA or SVGA video connector on IBM, AT, PS/2 and compatible computers.
	DB15 Female	Used as a joystick port on IBM, AT, PS/2 and compatible computers. Used as the video connector on most Macintosh computers.
	DB25 Female	Used as the parallel port (printer port) connector on IBM, AT, PS/2 and compatible computers. Used as the SCSI connector on most Macintosh computers.

	Centronics 50 Female	Used as the external SCSI connector on older IBM-compatible SCSI controller cards.
	Half Pitch DB50 Female	Used as the SCSI2 connector on many newer controller cards and Sun Sparc workstations.
	Half Pitch DB68 Female	Used as the SCSI3 connector on most new controller cards and Fast-SCSI and Wide-SCSI drives.
