Quick Installation Guide: Blowhole
Guide
This guide is the same for all sizes of blowholes,
for more information on Blowholes, check out the articles section at CaseEtc.
- Remove materials from boxes, and clear an area
to work with the appropriate tools.
- Decide on where the fan is going to be placed.
Do any measurements needed.
- Secure the Blowhole Template to the case, tape
works pretty well.
- Use a metal punch or nail to mark the center of
the screw holes as well as the center of the circle.
- Assuming you have the components removed, and
you are in an area in which metal shavings won't hurt things, go ahead and
prepare the Holesaw and Arbor.
- We recommend, and carry, saw lubricant for the
Holesaw. The Holesaw can be used on a corded drill, cordless drill, or drill
press.
- Put on the safety glasses and start in on the
main hole. Find the nick that the hole punch made, and place the arbor in
that for a starting posistion. The cut shouldn't take longer than a couple
minutes.
- You should have a perfect looking circle, take
off the burrs with a Dremel or other de-burring tool.
- Use a ?inch drill bit to drill the fan screw
holes.
- Place the grommets in the screw holes, the grill
over the grommets, then drive a screw through there into the fan. Use the
remaining fan screw to fasten the other grill.
- Place the positive and ground wires from the fan
into male Molex pins. The pins plug into the included connector, and then
plug that into a female Molex source from the power supply.
- You now have a killer blowhole (or suckhole),
hope you had fun making it. Questions and comments can be sent to cole_NOSPAM@directron.us (remove _NOSPAM manually).
Thanks!
