The FanbusBy Cole Dudley. Originally published on CaseEtc.com, which has now been acquired by Directron.com.
Quick Installation Guide: Fanbus
- Remove materials from boxes, and clear an area
to work with the appropriate tools.
- Measure the placement for the speaker terminals,
and drill holes on each side in the appropriate places. Remember to make room
to screw it on. Drill a hole on either end for the outgoing ground and 12v
wires.
- Attach speaker terminals.
- Cut four strips of black wires (2-3 inches will
do) and strip both ends. Do the same with some red wire. (any color of wire
works, I’m just denoting the ones in the kit)
- Solder all red wire to the red terminals, do the
same for black.
- Connect all the red wires together with solder,
plus a long red wire that will be long enough to reach to the power supply
cable. Do the same with the black wires.
- Make sure all connections are secure and insulated,
and route the two main 12v and ground wires out the side hole. Close up the
box.
- Put Molex pins on the two wires (I like to twist
them, saves room and makes it look better) then place a male Molex connector
on the end. You should be good to go.
- Use double sided tape or Velcro to secure the
unit. Put the ground wires in the black terminals and 12v in the red.
- I hope you had fun on the project, I am happy
to supply you with the materials to do so. If you have any questions, comments,
or just think your Fanbus rules, contact me at cole_NOSPAM@directron.us (remove _NOSPAM manually).
Thank you.
