Quick Installation Guide: Neon
Light Kit
- Remove materials from boxes, and clear an area
to work with the appropriate tools.
- Decide how much of the cord on the light you will
need, make sure you use enough, however.
- Cut off the car adapter from the cord, and cut
the cord down to size.
- Use an exacto knife or your fingers to separate
the two wires so you have a bit of play.
- The wire with the LINE is your positive wire,
the other is your ground.
- Cut and strip part of the 12v line. Twist the
end of the wire around so it is easier to work with.
- Place the heatshrink on the wire, and then solder
it to the top terminal on the SPST switch.
- Place the heatshrink over the terminal, and use
a hair dryer to shrink it.
- Cut and strip a left-over piece of the wire (20awg
or 22awg would do) and do the same to it. Solder it to the middle terminal
on the SPST switch.
- Trim the positive and ground wires so they are
even. Strip the end of both wires, and place a male molex pin on them. It
may help to solder. Place the pins in the male molex connector according to
the Power Supply cables. (Match the wire with the line with the yellow wire,
and the other with the black).
- Select a good location to mount your switch, add
an LED if you please. Use a ?inch drill bit for the hole for the SPST switch.
- Use the double-sided foam tape to mount your light.
Remember to pre-select this, the tape is pretty sticky.
- Enjoy your new neon light! Hope you had fun building
it, questions or comments can be sent to cole_NOSPAM@directron.us (remove _NOSPAM manually).
