They usually ship their products within 2 to 3 days. They also take checks and use paypal. Their website was easy to navigate and use. The case came when they said it was with the upgraded PS installed. Nice website and good service. They did fill this order wrong, 2 small items. Can you believe they called me at work! Just to let me know I did not need to send the wrong items back and they would ship the correct items immediately. It was a long distance call for them but I really do appreciate it. A friend told me that as a tech, I needed to build, rather than buy a new system. Well, that's fine, but where do you start? Pentium? Celeron? Athlon? Duron? And, what brand of motherboard do you get? What model? I had read some reviews about the ASUS A7M266 motherboard and had decided to go with that one, but I couldn't find anyone that actually carried the board. It started to look like I might have to re-think my choice. Finances were also a major concern, as I couldn't afford to pay more than a thousand dollars for my new system. I thought that I'd have to settle for something less than "cutting edge". I saw the Directron ad in Computer Shopper and went out to their website. I was impressed! They had a large selection, low prices and their website automatically suggested some pretty nifty upgrades. I started putting together a dream system, just to see how much it would cost. I picked out a really nice case and upgraded the power supply to something a bit better. I added the ASUS A7M266 motherboard, a 1.3GHz Athlon processor, 512MB of DDR PC2100 RAM, a floppy drive, a 52X CD-ROM, a Zip 100 drive, a 32M video card, a modem, a CPU cooler, totalled it all up and was surprised to see that I was under $1,000! I ordered the parts, and everything came in a day early! Everything was nicely packed, the order shipped complete and I am one happy camper! This was the first time I had heard of Directron, but I gotta tell you, I am going to be singing their praises loudly! The standard tower case I ordered was well packed with heavy cardboard inserted corner protectors was nice. I also ordered 2 drive silencer (stick a 3.5" disk in a sound proof box) & an enermax quiet PSU. They were shipped in the same box an well packed. All boxes arrived in quick time and suprisingly arrived at the same time -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment From User: (cingram) Tue Aug 21 19:08:49 2001 as good or better than than any other mail order site that i have used. if you change your mind and want to change the order, you need to be quick because they ship it out really fast. i have ups ground shipments usually in 3 or 4 business days. of course i'm only a few hundred miles from houston. haven't had any problems so far so i really don't know how well they handle them -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment From User: (taestee) Tue Aug 21 00:40:23 2001 I ordered a computer case, and was told it was not in stock on Friday evening. Had to wait until monday to call them, and they had already charged my card. The item that I ordered is still listed as being in stock, which seems like pure laziness to me. They dont even update their website. Only PROBLEM! After opening the powersupply, the connector to the power supply (the little plastic clip, you know the one) was completely busted off!! Manufactor's defect!! Now I have to send this stupid thing back because Enermax built a defective power supply... yeesh... will keep you updated on how well they treat this return. BTW, their return skipping information is hard to understand... I shipped my package as a FedEx 3-day, but it never says if I am going to have to re-pay for them to ship it again.. it only talks about UPS ground shipping... Not only is their ordering system easy to use with instant email verification, but the toll free support puts it over the top. When one of my products was damaged in shipping, a new one was immediately sent to me without any hidden charges that so many companies try to stick customers with. It's very rare to find a company with such wonderful support AND great prices, but Directron seems to provide both. This is my first purchase from Directron, but it definitely wont be the last. After I placed my order in the morning they tried to call me back for credit verification. Except the fact they call me 5 minutes before they close to verify the credit. I waited till next morning to call and verify my credit card. Everything seem to be fine. Then I get another call that same day at 5:15pm. (after they close) They are out of stock on my motherboard. The service rep tried to see if I wanted another motherboard that they had in stock. Well, I was asking questions about this and that motherboard and the service rep was not knowledge in there products. I was disgruntled to the fact they did not check on the status of my order till that evening. Why didn't we handle the problem in the morning with the credit verification. Well sorry to say but I canceled the order. Hopefully they can fix the customer service department a bit. Everything arrived in about a week except for one item that was backordered. The company emailed me when my order was shipped and again to let me know that a part was backordered,giving me the option to cancel my order or wait for it to ship. I let it ship and it arrived about a week later. No big deal. This was my first order at Directron and I will order from them in the future. Did not have to deal with customer service or talk to anyone, so I can't comment on that. Ordered Sticker sets for systems Funny ones added on the Any key - hehehhe. Hard to find Exention cables for 3 pin Every thing was fine. Happy Camper over here!
