It's a 16x DVD ROM drive with on-drive digital control for FM radio, volume, and MP3. The drive can be used both internally inside a 5.25" bay and externally. The VPC is the first product with worldwide patents that integrates audio/video processing capabilities, a SoundBlaster sound card, and an amplifier into a single disc drive with a unique flip-able front control panel that conceals the compact disc drive’s compartment with a single touch on the open/close button. Its size is conforms to fit into a standard 5.25" drive bay and requires no case modifications, it is not much more complicated to install than a regular CD-ROM. A large front display panel that can portray the trendy look of vacuum fluorescent display (VFD), closely resembles the dynamic and energetic effects often found on today's mini-combo audio systems. With the mobile, card-sized remote control in hand, a user is guaranteed a cool experience of owning a computerized car audio system at home. It can not only display the various status of the various functions, but also give a unique impression that outshines other computer toys on the market. This new generation of multimedia players not only allows personalization of sound effects, amplifier and radio tuner settings, it also could be turned into an entertainment hub without having to put up with the lengthy PC startup time. Furthermore the users are free from any noise or disturbance caused by the cooling fans of the personal computer, thus creating a perfect platform for users to enjoy CD, MP3, FM, VCD, DVD format discs while leaving the computer offline and/or power-off. Features: (1) High class stereo effects- SRS WOW processors and EQ signals: No need to buy 5.1 channel speakers or other expensive sound equipment to reach the surround sound effects. 2.0 speaker is good enough to bring the sound effects as expensive speaker equipment does. Its sound width and melody are adjustable as you'd like. (2) Cool, high-luminescent, 4-color front-panel Vacuum Fluorescent Display (VFD): The display reveals the functions and status that are visible from any angle. It is very different from the TFT LCD display panel, that is visible only within +/-60 angel degree, and LCD that is visible only within +/-30 angel degree. (3) Removable compact size design without software and no compatibility problems. It can be installed to PC ROM Drive Bay as a Home/PC multi media appliance. It also can be used as an independent unit. That's much different than other designs which are fixed into the PC. (4) Power save and truly enjoy your FM/MP3/CDs without the need for your PC, operates under 15W standby power. That's very different compared to other products that can play FM/MP3/CDs via e-bois around 150w ~ 200W power.
