Dynamat Extreme Sound Damper4-square feet of the best sound isolation material in a retail box. Apply Dynamat behind the side panels and inside the case to reduce the noise level for your PC. Description: Originally designed for car stereo systems to eliminate speaker distortion and reduce road noise, Dynamat Xtreme is a butyl composite with aluminum constraining layer, sheet metal vibrational damper. Dynamat Xtreme is made to conform and fuse to sheet metal and other hard substrates: automotive body surfaces such as floor pans and doors. Product can be die cut to shape and placed onto the body surface after sheet metal cleaning operation and prior to paint system (typically at the sealer application operation) or on painted panels. Material is highly resistant to aging. The acoustic loss factor 'n' is used as a measure of ability to damp structure-borne sound. It states how much the vibrational energy (in steel, for instance) is converted into heat rather than sound. For constructions containing several layers, the combined loss factor 'n comb' is used. The theoretical maximum loss factor is 1. An undamped steel panel 1mm thick has a loss factor of roughly 0.001 @ 200 Hz. Multiple layers can be used to improve sound damping still further. Applications: Besides PC enclosures, Dynamat Xtreme is used as treatment for metal panels, partitions, ducts, doors, bins, panels etc. in railroad cars, buses, automobiles, and ships. It is also used for ventilation ducts, relay cabinets, steel furniture, sink units, computer equipment, machine tools and for many other purposes. Dynamat Xtreme should be cut to the desired size and shape before the release liner is removed. It may be cut with scissors, knife or die. Remove dust , grease, moisture, and other foreign matter from the application surface. Peel off the release liner. The simplest application technique is to bend the mat slightly and attach it along its shortest edge. The mat is then pressed firmly into place, preferable with a roller for larger pieces. This reduces the risk of leaving air pockets, which reduce the sound damping capacity. The temperature of the mat and application surface sound not be below room temperature during fitting. Temperature Resistance Range: -54C to +149C (-65F to +300F). Chemical Resistance: Resistant to water and mineral oils. Adhesive Peel Strength: 74.81 N/min on cold steel. Fire Classification: Meets FMVSS 302. Handling And Application: The material must be at room temperature before handling and application. Storage Information:: Temperature Range: 32F to 86F, Number of Sheets in Stack:200 Maximum, This material must be stored horizontally in its wrapping. Notes: (1) Roller tool helps applying the Xtreme material on a surface firmly. (2) This is the "Xtreme" version of the Dynamat. (4) We now offer a service to mount this product onto the case of your choice for $29. You must order the case separately on the same order. No return will be accepted once the noise mat is mounted for either the case or the mat itself. We'll only mount the mat on the side, top, and bottom panels of your case to cover as a large area as possible. We'll leave what ever left over with the order so that you can use the left-over pieces for the other parts of the case yourself. Leave a detailed instruction if you want.
